Why We Race

My father, Richard Steel, taught me everything I needed to succeed — not just in racing, but in life.
From hard work and preparation, to perseverance, respect, and doing things the right way, those lessons started beside him. Racing became our shared language, and every lap in 2026 carries those lessons forward in his honor.

As this season came together, it became clear that his story wasn’t the only one worth carrying onto the track. Many of us race, work, and live guided by people we’ve lost — parents, grandparents, friends, and family whose impact never fades.

The Racing for Memories project was created to honor those people.

Take a moment to look at the image below. Each face represents someone deeply loved, remembered, and carried with us every lap of the 2026 season.
